After a remarkable launch in Lagos, the African School of Governance (ASG) will stop in Cairo from April 28 to 30, 2025, as part of its pan-African tour.

Objective: to establish partnerships and recruit talents who will shape the future of governance in Africa through an innovative Master of Public Administration (MPA) program rooted in African realities. More cities will follow soon.

The future of African governance is being shaped today. After a first successful step in Nigeria, the African School of Governance (ASG) continues its introductory tour in Cairo, Egypt, during the Future of Digital Countries Summit 2025 (FDC Summit). This pan-African tour, led by Professor Kingsley Moghalu, aims to raise awareness among young talents and decision-makers about the critical role governance plays in Africa’s sustainable.

    An African model for Africa
As the first governance institution founded by Africans to address African challenges, ASG aims to break away from imported models by offering a contextualized, ambitious, and action-oriented education. Professor Moghalu, President and Vice-Chancellor of ASG and former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, embodies this vision.

“Africa cannot transform without a generation of enlightened public leaders, capable of combining intellectual rigor, ethics, and strategic vision,” he emphasizes.

The school has already attracted attention from academic and institutional circles thanks to the strength of its project. Its Master of Public Administration (MPA) program, welcoming its first cohort in September 2025 on the Kigali campus, is built on partnerships with world-renowned institutions, such as the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore and the Mastercard Foundation.

    A strategic stop in Cairo
For three days, Professor Moghalu and an ASG delegation will meet with young professionals, public decision-makers, academics, and Egyptian investors. Their goal: to establish partnerships and recruit future students for the MPA program.

Its Master of Public Administration (MPA) program offers a multidisciplinary and innovative approach, structured around key modules: leadership for African transformation, public governance, African history, the continent’s international relations, and decision sciences.

In addition to the MPA, the ASG also offers executive education programs aimed at current professionals seeking to enhance their leadership and governance skills.

ASG’s presence in Cairo, alongside the FDC Summit, is highly strategic: this event brings together major actors driving the digital transformation of states, providing an ideal setting to highlight the need for quality public governance in Africa’s digital revolution.

A tour to connect the five regional hubs
After Lagos and Cairo, the tour will continue in Nairobi, Abidjan, and Maputo. More cities will soon follow, in line with ASG’s pan-African commitment. The objective is clear: identify talents across the various major linguistic regions of the African Union, build bridges with local ecosystems, and create a pan-African network of future public leaders.

Prestigious support for a continental ambition
ASG benefits from the support of an exceptional board of directors, composed of internationally renowned figures such as Donald Kaberuka, former President of the African Development Bank; Makhtar Diop, Managing Director of the International Finance Corporation; Hajer Gueldich, Legal Advisor to the African Union; and Kishore Mahbubani, leading Asian public intellectual, founding Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore and former Singaporean Ambassador to the United Nations.

Their experience, networks, and vision are invaluable assets to guarantee ASG’s academic excellence and continental impact.
    A call to African youth
As Africa enters a historic phase of demographic growth, the training of public elites capable of innovation and transformation is more urgent than ever.

“The fate of Africa, and particularly that of its youth, will be determined by the bold choices we make today,” insists Professor Moghalu.

With $20 million already secured for its launch, ASG invites ambitious and committed young Africans to join this unprecedented intellectual and civic adventure.

Applications for the September 2025 intake are now open at asg.ac. ASG’s ambition is to train a new generation of decision-makers capable of governing Africa with excellence, responsibility, and innovation.
